Chetana
The Issue
In our fast-paced society, individuals with disabilities often face unique challenges. Their special needs frequently go unaddressed, leaving them without the knowledge or skills necessary for employment. This forced idleness can lead to behavioural problems and a deterioration in both physical and mental health, ultimately making them a burden on their families.
Our Response: Chetana Occupational Rehabilitation Centre
At Chetana, we provide a safe and supportive environment where individuals can learn skills at their own pace. We offer free transportation to ensure safe commutes between home and the center. Our trainers provide constant supervision and guidance, fostering an encouraging and caring atmosphere. Participants receive monetary remuneration for their work, enjoy a free nutritious mid-day meal, and have access to free or subsidized medical facilities. We also create opportunities for joyful living.
Impact
Our efforts at Chetana lead to a renewed sense of purpose in life, a regular routine, and a sustainable livelihood. Participants have the chance to socially interact with peers, gain economic empowerment, and see improvements in their overall health. Additionally, their families experience relief from the burden of constant caretaking.
