Prashanti Foundation is a registered Trust established to empower people with disabilities. Through its project named Chetana, the foundation provides access to occupational training, financial assistance, and healthcare, enabling differently-abled individuals to establish healthy routines, learn new skills, and earn from their employment.
Chetana actively supports environmental protection by promoting the use of banana fiber products, integrating textile and banana fiber in their production. The adoption of handloom fabric and paper further underscores their commitment to eco-friendly practices. Among the wide range of products offered, including containers, home décor, watches, stationery, and food items, sustainability and transparency take precedence. The foundation is dedicated to empowering disabled individuals through responsible and handmade manufacturing methods, fostering a positive societal impact.
For the past 20 years, Chetana has assisted individuals with disabilities by providing daycare, vocational training, economic support, and psycho-social assistance. At the Occupational Rehabilitation Centre, each person is given the opportunity to acquire skills that align with their functional abilities. Regular work and social interactions foster structured routines, positively impacting their physical and psychological well-being. It gives them an opportunity to lead a life with purpose and dignity. 30 individuals with disabilities are currently benefiting from this project.
The organization also offers essential counseling and guidance to families, helping them cope with societal stigmas surrounding disabilities. The foundation’s distinctive approach ensures the economic independence of individuals with disabilities, with all products crafted by them.
